    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Meeker Memorial Hospital & Clinics announces the retirement of CEO, Kyle Rasmussen in May, 2018

1/22/18 – Litchfield, MN — Meeker Memorial Hospital & Clinics looks forward to the continued success of a strong healthcare organization and services for the future. These attributes come because of the strong leadership of the hospital board, medical staff, many hospital and clinic staff and volunteers, but most directly influenced by the work from the seat of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Kyle Rasmussen, CEO of Meeker Memorial announced internally to staff and boards his decision to retire. He has been the CEO since September, 2009.

Since that time, many great changes have taken place; with the official opening of the new 75,000 square foot hospital expansion, the continued remodeling projects in the hospital and clinics, 1.56 million dollar redesign innovation project for the Center for Senior Behavioral Health, expansion of clinic offerings, development of the patient experience and GEM® program; to name a few. Meeker Memorial has thrived through a difficult healthcare reimbursement time period and went from being a financially stable organization to financially strong during his leadership. There is an expectation from all who work for Kyle Rasmussen that Meeker Memorial is to be striving towards being the best hospital and provide the best patient experience. Through his encouragement and empowerment of staff, work with medical staff and boards this has been realized through excellent results and several awards. His most important measurement comes with the patient, and to provide the “best” experience possible, to tell great patient experience stories and to make healthcare improvements based on their needs and needs of the community.

Meeker Memorial has a continued strong commitment to the area residents it serves, and this change for Kyle will offer opportunity for the next CEO leader to do great things too. When contemplating retirement after 30 years of healthcare administration, “I wanted to go out on top and this is a good time for me to refocus. I will continue to live in the community and cheer on Meeker Memorial but take time to redirect my efforts. I may take more time to fish or apply myself in different opportunities,” says Rasmussen. One thing for sure, “Meeker Memorial has a bright future!”

In coming months, there will be a formal process of recruitment for the Chief Executive Officer for Meeker Memorial Hospital & Clinics by the Hospital Board of Directors.
