• Meeker Memorial Hospital & Clinics recognized for Antibiotic Stewardship

    Litchfield, MN–4/26/19 Meeker Memorial Hospital & Clinics (MMHC) has made continued improvements on the journey of Antibiotic Stewardship.  Antibiotic Awareness is an initiative of the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) recognizing honorees of the Minnesota Antibiotic Stewardship Honor Roll for Hospitals in the categories of Gold, Silver and Bronze.  MMHC is making a difference in developing partnerships with providers, and hospital departments like pharmacy, laboratory testing, and nursing to ensure patients are safer.  “Together, by improving treatment practices and working to inform the public of this serious health issue, we can make great progress,” says Ann Lien, Chief Quality Officer at MMHC.  “We are proud of our staff and healthcare provider efforts to achieve this recognition and will continue to work to improve overall antibiotic stewardship for the health of our patients.”  MMHC received a Bronze in 2017 and a Silver recognition in the 2019 Minnesota Antibiotic Stewardship Acute Care and Critical Access Hospital Silver Level Honor Roll, showing facility-wide commitment to antibiotic stewardship.
