Scope of Practice
Speech therapists work with individuals to improve labored speech patterns stemming from articulation, language and voice disorders which includes stuttering, stroke impairments and even reducing foreign accents. They are often asked to help with patients who have difficulty with swallowing due to a variety of disorders. They work on speech with children or adults that are difficult to understand or have cognitive/behavior difficulties. They can help them in following directions, decision making and learning to use language and answer questions appropriately
Specialties/Areas of Interest
Angela is specially trained in a treatment called VitalStim which is a method used to help patients with swallowing difficulties.
