Chemotherapy & Infusion Services

Coping with a cancer diagnosis is difficult and treatment can be exhausting. We want to make your journey as “stress-free” as possible, and help you avoid lengthy and uncomfortable car rides, stressful travel arrangements, and being away from home for extended periods of time. Our infusion service eliminates the need for long distance travel and provides an opportunity for more recovery time at home. Meeker Memorial Hospital (MMH) is proud to offer comfort and convenience for patients in the surrounding community that need outpatient infusions/treatments.

Care As It Should Be

MMH infusion services offer patient’s flexibility with the opportunity to schedule chemotherapy treatment and infusion services at the patients’ convenience, in a private and personal setting. Your care will be provided to you by chemotherapy/biotherapy certified Registered Nurses in a relaxing space.

We make your experience as comfortable as possible:

  • Big screen TV with DVD player
  • Reclining chair with heat and massage options
  • Options for privacy
  • Complimentary coffee/water/lemonade and meals for longer infusions
  • Music therapy

We will collaborate with local physicians, and, visiting specialty physicians to coordinate treatment plans for patients who need chemotherapy infusions for cancer, as well as acute or chronic medical diagnosis needing transfusions or IV medications. We also work in collaboration with MMH departments to coordinate services in laboratory, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy rehabilitation and surgery. We will provide patient and family education, as well as outreach resources throughout the treatment process.

Infusion Services include:

  • Blood transfusions
  • Chemotherapy (IV infusion or injections)
  • IV Therapy for patients (daily, weekly, monthly or annually)
  • Monthly port flushes
  • PICC dressing changes
  • Antibiotics or other injections for patient medical needs

Oncology Team

Our oncology team of specialists provides consultation at MMH in the Specialty Clinics. In a team approach with the laboratory and diagnostic services, working closely with your doctor, the oncologist can supervise chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted cancer therapy treatments. This cutting-edge approach accompanied by personalized care from our trained cancer care staff make the patient experience exceptional.

Dr. Ewa WysokinskaEwa M. Wysokinska, M.D. sees patients at Meeker Memorial Hospital (MMH) Specialty Clinics twice monthly.Hematologist – Oncologist – Willmar Regional Cancer Center Dr. Wysokinska is a hematologist-oncologist, a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of blood diseases and cancers such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, and leukemia and lymphoma. She is trained in hematology, the study of blood, and oncology, the study of cancer.

Hematologist – Oncologist – Willmar Regional Cancer Center Dr. Wysokinska is a hematologist-oncologist, a physician who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of blood diseases and cancers such as iron-deficiency anemia, hemophilia, sickle-cell disease, and leukemia and lymphoma. She is trained in hematology, the study of blood, and oncology, the study of cancer.

Dr. Wysokinska’s expertise allows for patients with blood type cancers to see a specialist locally. Teaming with other oncologists, cancer care providers and staff at MMH. Patients will continue to have cancer care and chemotherapy close to home.
