Women's Health

Women have unique health care needs. Meeker Memorial Hospital’s rehabilitation team recognizes that fact and we are able to meet those special needs. We work with women during pregnancy and delivery when there are problems with musculoskeletal system. This includes pain due to postural changes and back pain during pregnancy or delivery. Supportive devices and exercises are given as needed.

Therapy is also able to address problems with weakness or incoordination of the pelvic floor that result in unplanned leakage of urine or incontinence. The pelvic floor muscles can be strengthened like any other muscle group. Discreet treatment involves education, strengthening and re-education of the pelvic floor to a more normal state. Sometimes biofeedback is needed to assist in this process. Health care for women spans the ages and Meeker Memorial Hospital rehabilitation is here to help along the way.
